Florida's East Coast is just a short drive from Venice. In the Orlando and Kissimmee area you'll find almost more stuff than you can do on vacation, including Disney World and Universal Studios theme parks. Stay close to the fun at Fort Wilderness, the campground at Disney World.

More great fun for families or adults can be found in Tampa (a little north of Venice) at the Florida State Fair and at Busch Gardens theme park. And don't forget the yummy Strawberry Festival in Plant City (between Orlando and the Tampa/Bradenton area).

Daytona, also on the East Coast of Florida, has something for everyone to enjoy. NASCAR fans will love races like the Daytona 500 or the Pepsi 400. Motorcycle enthusiasts won't want to miss Daytona Bike Week. Car lovers will have a ball at the Daytona Turkey Run Car Show, Florida's biggest car show and swap meet. And everybody loves Daytona's beautiful beaches.

Looking for some more sports action? Stay close to the action and enjoy tailgating at a Miami Dolphins or Tampa Bay Buccaneers game. Or check out the excitement of the 12 Hours of Sebring race at the Sebring International Raceway in central Florida. And don't forget the excellent NHRA drag racing at the GatorNationals in Gainesville.

A little south of Gainesville, in the central part of the state, is Ocala, where you'll find some great smaller theme parks like Silver Springs and Wild Waters. In addition, nearby Ocala National Forest has hundreds of campsites (including full-service sites) throughout the forest, as well as ample opportunities for hiking, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, boating and swimming.

Head south from Venice to hopping Fort Myers, or head a little farther (okay, a lot farther) south to enjoy the amazing Florida Keys. Yes, the Keys are a bit of a drive from Venice, but vacation is about taking your time and enjoying the relaxed pace that RVing affords. You'll definitely feel like a cheeseburger in paradise when you discover the beauty and fun of Key West.

Just a little north of Venice is Sarasota, which offers lots of fun attractions, like botanical gardens, an aquarium, a bird sanctuary, jungle gardens, and keys with beautiful white sand beaches. Nearby Myakka River State Park is one of the largest and most diverse natural areas in Florida. There you can enjoy birdwatching, canoeing, fishing, wildlife viewing, hiking, camping, or a walk through the treetops on Myakka's canopy walkway.
